Government Urges Private Sector Companies to Reach Emiratisation Target by the end of 2022

Updated: Mar 8, 2023

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation urges for companies in the private sector to reach the Emiratisation target before the end of 2022. Private sectors with at least 50 employees are required to have 2% of their employees be UAE nationals or they will be fined AED 6000 per month starting January 2023.

UAE Government also offered a discount on work permit fees for organizations that voluntarily exceed Emiratisation targets. This means that companies are only required to pay a small fee of AED 250 rather than the standard fee of AED 3750. The ministry is also offering private sector companies a package of incentives, including a first-category classification and membership in the Tawteen Partners club in which they are offered a discount of up to 80% on the ministry’s service fees.

The UAE government has also shown their resolves to encourage citizens to take on private sector jobs by offering extra salaries and benefits and ensuring support programs that will empower and protect Emirati professionals in the private sector. Salary incentives are also being offered to Emirati university graduates and UAE graduates in training for skilled jobs. The UAE government's Nafis scheme has set a target of 75,000 Emiratis in private sector jobs by 2026.
